RACE DAY INFORMATION

We have done our last route checks and are extremely excited to announce that this year’s edition of Cullinan2Tonteldoos will be the most friendly Gravel Bike race to date! 80% of the gravel roads have been graded in the last month with minimal corrugations and sandy patches. Even the few ‘technical’ sections from previous years have been smoothed over!

We expect the fastest average speeds ever and looking ahead the weather forecast seems favourable for a pleasantly overcast Race Day come next Friday!

REGISTRATION & RACE START:
  • Please ensure you already have your SAS race number registered and mounted on your bike when arriving at the Race Start.
  • Registration and COVID screening will open at 4 am and is a simple process that will take less than 2 minutes to complete.
  • There is no collection of goody bags at the start. You will receive your goody bag, race medal and t-shirt at Dunkeld Estate.
  • We encourage all riders to have their Drop Bags ready and packed the night before.
  • Drop Bags can be handed in directly after the registration and screening and each rider will receive an armband with your Drop Bag number
  • Please do not remove this armband as we will use this to tick off the meals you receive at the halfway and finish points
  • VIP Toilets will be available and as per all Advendurance events, iCoffee will have your favourite brew ready!
  • Riders DO NOT have to start the race with lights mounted as was the case in previous years. However, lights must be mounted and tested before leaving the halfway point at 133km at De-Villa Resort. This is compulsory!

What you need to know about the curfew:

Faces Advendurance is working closely with authorities in Gauteng to get permission for travel permits during curfew hours for riders to get to Cullinan before the start. We are also working closely with the Mpumalanga authorities to ensure the safety of all riders riding into curfew. In a worst-case scenario where the organisers are obliged to abide by the curfew rules, all riders still on the course after 00:00 am will be evacuated by the organisers and taken to the finish venue at Dunkeld Estate. YOU WILL STILL BE A CLASSIFIED FINISHER!

Support Vehicles must also ensure that they arrive at Dunkeld before curfew at 00:00.

It is our sincere hope that we will be able to issue travel permits, and we will keep riders updated with new developments in the coming week

Please take note that Dunkeld is a privately owned estate and cooler boxes are not allowed.

Please contact Dunkeld Estate for booking accommodation directly HERE.
